Kim Freeman

Dr Kim Freeman is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist based in Wokingham, Berkshire, specialising in working with children, young people and their families, as well as adults, across a broad range of mental health issues. Having spent many years as a Child Clinical Psychologist in the NHS — where she held a Principal Clinical Psychologist role in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Hampshire — she now focuses on private practice, bringing extensive experience of complex cases in both community and inpatient settings.

Kim received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southampton in 2010 and has taught and supervised on doctoral training courses at Southampton and the University of Reading. She works therapeutically using an integrative range of approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness, systemic, solution-focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused and narrative therapies, tailoring treatment to each young person's unique presentation. She is highly experienced in neurodevelopmental conditions and offers specialist assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, trained in the 3Di and ADOS-2 assessment tools. She supports clients with depression, anxiety, panic attacks and phobias, relationship and family problems, PTSD, OCD, bereavement, low self-esteem, self-harm, anger management, eating disorders, and trichotillomania and other impulse-control disorders. Kim is a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a member of the BABCP and the Association of Child Psychologists in Private Practice (AChiPPP), and an accredited EMDR practitioner.
