Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in submitting a listing to the ChatCBT Therapist Directory. Our platform is dedicated to helping people who are struggling with their mental health to discover the best counsellors and therapists in their area. We welcome listings from accredited practitioners, and we ask that you follow our guidelines to ensure a smooth submission process.
What We Accept
We accept listings from counsellors, therapists, and psychologists based in the United Kingdom who:
- Offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) as an option in their practice;
- Have achieved the recognised industry benchmark of a relevant Diploma-level qualification (or higher), or an appropriate course involving a minimum of 400 hours of classroom-based tuition;
- Hold practitioner-level membership with a recognised professional body.*
*Accepted professional bodies include the following organisations.
- BABCP (British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies): The leading body for CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) practitioners.
- BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy): The largest body, focusing on ethical standards and offering a widely recognised accredited register.
- UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy): A leading body for psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors, focusing on in-depth training.
- NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society): A professional home for talking therapists, offering an Accredited Register.
- BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council): A leading professional body for psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapists.
- HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council): A statutory regulator for practitioner psychologists and some specialised art therapists.
Free & Premium Listings
We offer both free listings and premium listings. Our free listings provide basic exposure for your practice, but you also have the option to upgrade to a premium listing for enhanced visibility, additional features, and priority placement on the directory. Premium listings come with additional benefits such as:
- A featured listing on the homepage.
- More detailed descriptions and additional images.
- Priority placement in search results.
- The ability to add promotional content and special offers.
Premium listings can be purchased on a monthly or annual subscription. Please select the relevant option when you submit your listing.
Monthly subscription: £3.99 per month.
Annual subscription: £35.99 per year.
Paid subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.
If you choose to cancel, your profile will be removed from our site within 7 days.
Submission Process
- Click the "Sign Up" button and enter your name, email address and a password to register.
- Log in to your account and click the “Add Your Listing” button.
- Work through the form sections to add your details. Some of the form fields are optional, and these can be skipped if preferred. Data that is required (i.e. not optional) is marked with the * symbol.
- Business Information: Include your contact details, location, specialisms, operating hours, and any other relevant information that helps people get to know your business.
- Images and Media: High-quality images that represent you and your practice are encouraged. We recommend submitting at least 1-3 images that are clear, relevant, and visually appealing.
- Select a subscription type. If you select a premium listing, please enter your payment details. Subscription payments will renew automatically (either monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select) until you cancel.
- Submit your listing.
- Manual Verification: All submissions to ChatCBT are manually reviewed and approved to ensure accuracy and quality. Once your submission is verified, you will receive an email confirmation to let you know your listing is live. If anything looks incorrect, you can either contact us, and we can amend it for you, or you can edit it yourself inside your account. Please note that any changes you make yourself will be pending, subject to approval (usually within 24-48 hours).
Content Guidelines
- Accurate Information: Please ensure all details provided are accurate, complete, and up-to-date. Listings with incomplete or incorrect information will be rejected.
- Quality Descriptions: Listings should include well-written descriptions that highlight what makes your service unique and appealing. Avoid generic or overly promotional language.
- No Spam: Spam will not be tolerated. Any submission that includes spammy content or irrelevant links will be rejected.
Cancelling Your Listing
Terms and Conditions
- Approval Time: Submissions are manually verified, so please allow 1-2 business days for approval. Once approved, your listing will go live on our platform.
- Changes and Updates: You can update your listing at any time. Please allow 24-48 hours for changes to be approved. We recommend keeping your listing information accurate and up-to-date, especially for operating hours, contact details, and services.
- Compliance: By submitting a listing, you agree to comply with our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to remove any listing that does not adhere to our guidelines.
