
Richard George is an experienced CBT and EMDR psychotherapist with approximately 18 years' NHS experience at a senior level, working across adult mental health, children's services, primary care, learning disabilities, and research and audit. He now works in private practice, drawing on a wealth of clinical experience and working to NICE guidelines.

Richard has full accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and is an accredited member of EMDR Association UK. His qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MSc in Psychological Research Methods, and a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT (Distinction), along with EMDR Europe accredited training. While he takes a keen interest in all common mental health problems, he has undertaken extensive further training in the treatment of PTSD and has particular expertise in assessing and treating people who have experienced a wide range of traumas — including sexual assault, domestic abuse, terrorist attacks, and persecution and torture among asylum seekers — with considerable experience of working alongside interpreters. He also offers clinical supervision.
